Occupy Arizona

Here are images from the Occupy Phoenix and Occupy Tucson Actions October 15, 2011.

About 2,500-4,000 people gathered in Phoenix on October 15. Despite 100 degree temperatures, we shared, spoke and voiced our outrage about an unrepresentive government.

The head count varies widely as people came and went throughout the day.

The AFL-CIO sponsored 2 hours of labor presenters. Others spoke in 2 minute intervals on a wide variety of subjects related to our need for and right to representation.

These photos don't do the crowd justice as there were hundreds I just couldn't get in the lens.

Protestors exercised various ways of voicing their thoughts.

There was room for all, including this Ron Paul 'end the fed' advocate.

As people would come or go they would leave their 'voice' on protest signs for others to see or pick up and adopt as their own.

The place was absolutely packed with our fellow Americans. We the people have many voices, but we all simply demand to be heard above the din of corporate manipulators.

Music was provided by 'The Spirit of  '76"

Note: Despite media reports I saw no arrests during the day. I did notice that the streets were closed to minimize our exposure to the 'populace'. However, I understand from TheLouShow.Com that Lenny and a core group of protestors were arrested without violence later in the evening when they moved to another park.

I also made it down to Tucson for part of their "Occupy Tucson" event on the same day.

I understand the Tucson Crowd was well over 1,000 in the morning but it was down to several hundred by the time I arrived late in the afternoon.

Native American Sage Incense, folk music, singing and a spirit of free-form fellowship  filled the air. It's great to see all ages and genders involved. What's so funny about peace, love and understanding?

Street view of protestors (about 30 staffed the corners at Tucson's Armory Park)..

Another view of the street.

Finally, a shot of the 'Sticker Table'. These were available for free
'take what you need to get the word out' but donations were accepted.
I kicked in a few bucks and my car is now well decorated.
